Iredell-Statesville Schools District (NC) relied upon T-1 speeds to connect 33 of its 35 schools and four central office facilities. As the district increased its technology usage, the existing network became severely congested resulting in bandwidth bottlenecks.

With Conterra's multi-link Ethernet network and 100 Megabit (Mbps) dedicated connectivity, Iredell-Statesville Schools District now employs interactive learning across select schools and classrooms and incorporates multi-media features, such as live Internet Web sites into their curriculum.

"Our teachers were pleased with the availability of digital learning techniques while our technicians were pleased with the insignificant impact the increased traffic had on our network," said Pam Schiffman, chief accountability and technology officer, Iredell-Statesville Schools

Nash-Rocky Mount School District (NC) upgraded its T-1s and 11 Megabit (Mbps) unlicensed wireless connectivity to Conterra's 100 Mbps Ethernet Network enabling the District to expand streaming video, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Web access in the classrooms.

"Downloading of multi-media education modules that previously took 10 to 20 minutes or more is now done instantly enabling teachers to incorporate distance learning applications efficiently into their daily curricula," said Jim Albright, director of Technology, Nash-Rocky Mount School District, "And, hundreds of students in any given school can now simultaneously access the Internet at ultra high speeds without creating typical logjams at peak hours."
